But How On Earth Did You Find Me With *THAT* Search Term?

I stole Nevillegirl and Miriam Joy’s idea about posting their search terms. (Check theirs out too, they’re incredibly funny and had me laughing to pieces.) I, too seem to have an awful lot of weird search terms so here goes.

dracula cape silver   As far as I know, he had a black cape. I don’t know anyone with a silver cape except Gandalf or Dumbledore maybe, to metch their beards.

annoying sister   Yes! I have one! Do you want her?

old junk and vocabulary   A lot of people seem to have those things, although not together I wouldn’t think.

funny love writing pictur   I haven’t got the faintest idea what you’re talking about, but by all means continue.

joke about junk drawers    Here’s one—-

Q: What did the junk drawer say to the cleaning cupboard?

A: NOTHING! Junk drawers don’t talk and neither do cleaning cupboards, silly.

better world    I want one too.

dandy children wallpaper   (And TWO individuals searched for that?)

funny happy birthday uncle quotes     Too many adjectives, my friend.

how to dessup a drawer inside    I don’t know. Why would you want to dress up the inside of a drawer, anyways?

tporry black      “No, I don’t know who that is, maybe Sirius does though.”

transportation inside the mall   Yes. It’s called legs.

free picture of mad man       Are you talking about this picture?

a short story about tomte    I haven’t written any, but that’s a great idea!

short story about octopuss     Yikes—a cat crossed with an octopus? That does NOT sound like a good idea.

dressing up a can of spam     I’m not even going to ask why anyone would want to do that.

television button     And what exactly would that be?

the junik drawer spell check software     Seriously? What is this supposed to mean?

a really short story about an octopus     Here you are, mysterious un-named searcher.

money is inside the drawer      Ooooh, really? Where? Can I have some?

story writing on funny pictures     Wouldn’t you want to write the story on a regular piece of paper, though? Why ruin the funny picture?

make the world a better please      Yes, I can try but I really can’t do it until I know what sort of better you want. Like, better books? Better cars? Better swimming pool diving boards?

address of modes mall     Are you a stalker?

malikiliki how to spell   You didn’t spell it right, but there’s about three people in the world who can so don’t feel bad.

halloween is over ???   Yes.

turnip *tomte    Last time I checked, I wasn’t a vegetable so stop calling me one.

Well then. I think I’ll just leave that for now and see if I get any more weird terms.

Looking Back On 2012!

So the WordPress stat helper monkeys prepared me a 2012 stat report, and this was my first full year of blogging so it’s my first stat report. Yay! I’m excited.

In it, it lists the five top commenters and the top three countries, so if you’re any of those, give me a shout out 😀

Here’s an excerpt:

The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)

Hi there! It’s been ages, I know, but I’m back now. So, then, without further ado…….

The movie poster..

The movie poster..(Well, one of them. There seem to be an awful lot of them.)

Last Friday, my grade went to the zoo’s IMAX theater to see The Hobbit, apparently because we had been studying “great battles” or “epic stories” or whatever they said, and nobody really remembered because we just wanted to see the movie. In 3-D, no less. The movie was really interesting. It was a little confusing at times, but I attributed that to not having read the book yet. Yet. I am still trying to get that book in my hands and in my brain. Apparently all of the library’s copies are checked out, last time I checked. But it was also really good. But there were still some times where I would pause and think…Wait….What?

For those of you who haven’t read the book or seen the movie, here’s a short summary of the movie:

Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit is one day unexpectedly approached by the wizard, Gandalf. Gandalf adds Bilbo as the final member of his 13-dwarf company led by the fearsome warrior, Thorin. Their journey encounters scary Orcs, giant spiders, goblins, shapeshifters and more as they set out to reclaim the lost Dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the nasty dragon Smaug who has taken over it. As they pass through the Wild in Middle Earth, they must escape the goblin tunnels, there Bilbo meets the creature named Gollum. Bilbo takes Gollum’s “precious” ring that seems innocent and helpful at the time……a simple golden ring that it tied to the fate of all Middle Earth.

I’ll start with the good.

They do look very much alike....still not the same person though.

They do look very much alike….still not the same person though.

The casting was excellent. Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins was very good. He was perfect to play Bilbo, I think. Ian McKellen was also very good as Gandalf, too. The only thing that bugged me was how much he looked like Michael-Gambon-Dumbledore. He didn’t look like Richard Harris, and besides, he’s dead. Funnily enough, my schoolmates seem to regard me as the one who knows everything about Harry Potter, so at least three of them asked me, “Was that Dumbledore?” “No, no, no,” I replied to every single one, “it’s a different actor.” I only knew that because I sat in my seat and watched the credits up until they announced that Gandalf was played by Ian McKellen.

I like it better that way, as it fits better in my nerdy brain that Dumbledore and Gandalf are long-lost twin brothers or something, and how could they be twins if they were the same person? I’d also like to thank whoever made this chart.

I would also like to mention that the sets were amazing. Riverdell and the Shire were especially good, in my opinion. I was wearing my special 3-D glasses so they seemed especially intricate and big. I ended up tuning the action out a few times and looking at the sets, some of which had to be CG because otherwise it would have taken up an area the size of  Russia.

There’s also strange bits of humor in the films, and they’re very well placed. Personally, I liked the part at the beginning where Balin and Dwalin greet each other in Bilbo’s house and then just bang their heads together. Strange? Yes. Funny? Yes.

Now for the not-so-good. It’s not that the movie is bad or anything, there are just some things that I think ought to be changed.

hobbit #4

First off, they seemed to have an awful lot of problems with monsters. Orcs, goblins, trolls, and the mountain rock people. Just to name a few. The mountain rock people didn’t bug me too much and neither did the trolls, but the goblins were nasty and I’ll elaborate on them later. The Orcs are what I mostly had a problem with, as they popped up entirely too much during the movie and according to people who have actually read the book too, they don’t pop up nearly as much in the book. I suppose all Peter Jackson (the director) wanted to do was just throw in more danger. I still don’t like them very much, though. They’re UG-LEE.

Don’t even get me started on the goblins, they’re just nasty and that’s the goblin king over there. Trust me when I say you do NOT want to see the rest of him. It’s just more warts and hair and snot and more who knows what. I guess, since he’s easily the ugliest of the lot that the ugliest goblin is the king.

hobbit #5

And as I’m seguing into the ugly, one word. Gollum/Smeagol. Gollum is one bang out of order hobbit, just to say. So apparently Gollum was once a hobbit like Bilbo, but he had the ring too long and according to J.R.R. Tolkien you go all crazy and evil if you have it too long. So Bilbo and Gollum have a riddle-contest and Bilbo steals the ring from Gollum and Gollum FREAKS OUT. It’s actually kind of funny if you’re not that scared, because he runs around going “my precious!” I don’t know. I thought it was funny from a nerdy point of view. I’m weird in the way that I like it.

Well, I think I’ve run through the good, the bad and the ugly. Overall, it was a really good movie and I liked it a lot, it was just weird like Gollum sometimes. But I’d watch it again, and you should if you haven’t already.

Why Did You Have To Die?

I’ve read a lot of books. I’ve read the words that make characters die. (That sounds awkward….) But really, I didn’t want them to die and I was always really depressed when that happened. So here’s a list of why I didn’t want them to die.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

voldemort

You-Know-Who (Aka Voldemort)

Okay, this is an odd one to have first, but I was kind of sad when he died, because I knew it meant the end of the books and the movies. I wouldn’t have wanted him to keep living, though. He’s had too much world-domination already and he’d just be more bad news for the world. Although, I did like Ralph Fiennes playing him. That man is really scary. And he was a pretty good villain, as far as villains go.

rue

Rue (the district 11 tribute)

I liked Rue, and since she was really young, it just made the Capitol’s Hunger Games seem so unjust and unfair. I cried when I went to see the movie and she died. (Don’t look at me funny, it was a really sad scene.)

(The one with the red hair is Alcie.)

Alcie from the Pandora Gets… series.

A lot of you don’t know about this series, but it’s a good book series about Greek myths.  The only reason I was sad Alcie died is because she wasn’t even supposed to, and because I liked her the best. Plus, she was cool. I was happy when they sent her back from the underworld, seeing as she wasn’t supposed to be dead and all that.

prim

Prim (from the Hunger Games)

This is just brutal. This was at the very end of Mockingjay, so after Finnick, Boggs, and the other people died, your heart was already crushed. Now your heart is shattered into a million pieces. Depressing….

Padfoot (Aka Sirius from Harry Potter)

This is Harry’s only family, and then he gets killed. And he was so cool too!

Finnick Odair (Hunger Games)

There aren’t any good pictures of Finnick yet, so he doesn’t get a picture, unfortunately. According to the book, he has bronze hair and sea-green eyes. I was sad when he died, because I liked him just as much as Peeta.

dobby

Dobby (Harry Potter)

House-elf who saves Harry & Co. Then gets killed. Sad.

snape

Severus Snape (Harry Potter)

Not going to say anything. This is just the saddest thing!

I think I need to stop now. After all, I could go on and on. Plus, this post is kind of sad.

Any comments?

The Sad Story Of Fluffy The Frog: Book #1

In Creative Writing in school last week, yours truly wrote a book that is surpassing all expectation. This book? None other than….

The Sad Story Of Fluffy The Frog.

I’ve decided to tell you about it, one, because I totally love it, two, because I want to hear what you think about it, and three, a good many of you are doing NaNoWriMo, so you’ll enjoy this.

So here goes. Because I can’t find out how to scan the pages onto the computer, (such a smarty-pants I am), I’ve just redrawn the pictures in Microsoft Word and uploaded them here. I hope you love it to pieces!

Title: The Sad Story of Fluffy The Frog.

Page 1: One day Fluffy was sitting outside in the rain.

Page 2: Then a lightning bolt hit him and he died.

The end!

I’m so sadistic, cruel and uncaring, yes, I know.

P.S. It’s a trilogy, so that means there’s two more to come! Mwahahaha! >:)

So what did you think? Please let me know! I MUST HEAR YOUR REACTION! 🙂

The 2012 Election: I Actually Cared About It!

I’m quite proud of myself. I actually cared about the U.S. presidential election this year. Nevermind that I still can’t vote, nevermind I can’t even be a poll watcher, nevermind that I can’t run for office for about ANYTHING, but who cares? I cared about the election!

On Election Day, I was super excited. We are learning about this stuff in Social Studies, so that might be partially why I was so excited, but I’ll have to wait another two presidential cycles before I have anything to say about it. But meh. Whatever. I desperately wanted to ask every adult with  one of those uber amazing “I Voted!” little red stickers, “Hey….who did you vote for?” But unfortunately for me, that is not my job, and plus I’d probably get in serious trouble for it.

I was quite decided about everything. Everything, that is, except the one that really matters: who should be president?

I really don’t want to get too in depth in politics, and I know many people who could totally do that. So here’s just a few things about what I think: (me, not anybody else.)

  • I’m a supporter of rights. Etc, I support gay rights, I support treating women + men the same, equalist, feminist, etc.
  • I also think we need to focus on clean energy and the environment.
  • Sorry rich people, but you do need to be taxed more because, well, you make more. (According to me.)
  • Also, we should cut military spending.

So, like I said above, I really don’t think either of the candidates, Romney or Obama is quite right for our country. However, I agree with one thing that Mitt Romney agrees on, according to this test. I agreed with a few more things with Obama, but what surprised me is that I agreed with everything, but one with Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate. She seemed okay, except for she looked somewhat strange-ish so I thought, ummmm…..

So that’s why I support Barack Obama….more. I was quite happy he won. Although, now at school I’m facing some interesting fights about why Mitt Romney should have won.

Actually, now that I think about it, two other people in my grade, let’s call them Bob and Bobbina, were both heavily supporting Romney. It was because of different reasons, but they both agreed Romney should be president.

My social studies teacher had three posters about the election. One on Obama, one on Romney, and one projecting the electoral votes. Bob and Bobbina both really wanted that Romney poster, so after the election, they worked out a custody agreement for the Romney poster.

My first reaction was, How strange! And then, how weird!

We also had a mock election in class, too. We were voting on a Senate seat and a House seat for the national congress. We also voted on the president and the two amendments that were proposed for the voters to vote on, the Marriage Amendment and the Photo ID Amendment. (You all can learn about those if you Google Search “minnesota ___________ amendment”. )

Mitt Romney won. I really don’t remember who won the other offices, and frankly, I actually don’t care that much. The Photo ID Amendment was no-ed by a majority, and the Marriage Amendment was a tie. Evidently we only had thirty people who voted on that.

As a final thought to lead you off tonight, in 2008 I was excited that Barack Obama won. I just liked him. (Remember, I was pretty young.) So I made a trivia PowerPoint full of quiz questions about him. I even had Obama clip art.

So that’s my election. How was yours?

P.S. I’m also quite proud of myself as I have set a goal for myself that each of my posts should be nice and long. I have started off on the right foot, writing 648 words. I’m quite proud of myself. 😀
